“Rock of Ages” was the smallest original piece in my first collection, a landscape with a rock in the center started to appear after a few swipes of my palette knife. I was simultaneously working on a much larger piece with mountains as the focal point. The juxtaposition was a humbling reminder of an immovable, eternal “rock” - our loving God - steadfast and unchanging, a permanence in life’s storms. A shelter and our salvation. The large mountains in our lives are no match for the “Rock of Ages” whose strength is infinitely greater than any mountain.
